Our Mission
The Canada Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association (CDLDSA) is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and advancing the art and sport of Dragon and Lion Dance across Canada. The association focuses on developing athletes of all ages through structured training programs, youth engagement initiatives, and competitive opportunities at local, national, and international levels.
CDLDSA plays a key role in fostering cultural appreciation while emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness. Through workshops, community performances, and collaborations with schools and cultural organizations, the association helps educate the public about the rich history and significance of Dragon and Lion Dance traditions.
In addition, CDLDSA supports the growth of the sport by organizing competitions, certifying coaches and judges, and creating pathways for athletes to represent Canada on the global stage. Its commitment extends beyond performance, aiming to build confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of community among its members while ensuring the tradition continues to thrive for future generations.

The Canada Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association is the official national governing body for the discipline of Dragon and Lion Dance in Canada, operating as an autonomous discipline under Wushu Canada. The CDLDSA stands as the nationally recognized authority, operating with full independence to lead, elevate, and unify the development, promotion, and coordination of Dragon and Lion Dance across Canada.

Canada Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association (CDLDSA) has collaborated with the United States Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association and the Mexico Dragon & Lion Dance Sport Association to establish the Pan American Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association. This partnership unites leading organizations across North America to strengthen the sport and expand opportunities for athletes.
Through this alliance, top teams-selected based on national competition results-are brought together to compete and represent their respective federations on an international stage. A major Pan American competition will be held every two years, showcasing elite talent from across the Americas while promoting cultural exchange and raising the standard of dragon and lion dance.
